State

NAD+ and FAD are electron-carrier molecules, derived from B vitamins, that accept high-energy electrons to become NADH and FADH2 for later energy use.

Show

NADH, the reduced form of NAD+, carries electrons from glycolysis onward to the electron transport chain.

Watch for

A carrier's reduced form, marked by the added "H," holds the energy — its oxidized form must be regenerated.
