State
The denominator-split error divides across the terms of a denominator; a/(b + c) is not a/b + a/c.
Show
12/(2 + 4) is 12/6 = 2, but 12/2 + 12/4 is 6 + 3 = 9. The split wrecked the value.
Watch for
A summed denominator is one block; treat it whole.
