A homogeneous mixture, also called a solution, has a uniform composition and looks the same in every sample taken from it.

Brass is a uniform solid solution of copper and zinc, so any two filed samples show the same composition.
Watch for
"Solution" isn't limited to liquids or solids — air and a well-mixed sports drink both count as homogeneous mixtures too.
