This capstone traces apical dominance as a live balance between two antagonistic hormones rather than a fixed structural feature of the shoot.
Watch for
Treating apical dominance as fixed rather than balanced is the error — a change to either hormone's supply, not only removal of the bud itself, shifts the outcome, which is why applying synthetic auxin to a cut stem reproduces suppression that removing the bud alone would have released.
