This procedure sorts an unfamiliar plant sample into bryophyte, seedless vascular plant, gymnosperm, or angiosperm groups by applying three criteria in sequence.
Watch for
Checking seed enclosure before confirming a seed is present at all inverts the correct order — a seedless vascular plant has no seed to check for enclosure in the first place.
